CLOTHES
Outerwear:
you will need wear clothes, at least 3 layers.
Depending on weather you’ll dress or take off the certain type of clothes.
As a rule outerwear it is a big wind-proof jacket with a hood and the same trousers.
As a rule without warmth-keeping layer.
The role of warmth-keeping layer is executed by other internal layers of clothes,
as a rule it is different variants of fliss.
Underclothes:
sport shirt and trousers from thin Polartec 100, Aerotex or thermo-underwear.
Wind-proof jacket:
a wind-proof jacket (with a hood) must have light-weight, provide normal circulation of air,
a jacket must be such a required size to help you feel in a comfort,
if it is dressed over other jacket. It is desirably that it will be Gore-Tex® jacket.
Waterproof cloak:
водонепроницаемый плащ должен быть достаточно надежный, просторный, легкий, что бы вы могли
чувствовать себя комфортно, если он одет поверх вас и рюкзака.
Fliss trousers:
Polartec 200, Bi Polar or analogical, it is desirably with zipper,
that simplifies dressing it over boots.
Wind-proof trousers:
Wind-proof trousers must provide normal circulation of air,
to be is spacious enough with zipper on each side,
that simplifies their dressing over a boots (so-called self-throw off).
It is desirably that it’ll be Gore-Tex® wind-proof trousers or Windbloc trousers.
BACKPACK OUTFIT
You must have two backpacks. One is a basic, capacity no less than 80 litres
and a "storm" one over 20 litres for an ascent. About backpack read

Compressive nylon packages:
5-8 pc. for packing things in a backpack.
Polyethylene packages:
10-20 pc. for packing things in a backpack, packing foods, garbage, and other.
Waterproof large package:
for the concealment of backpack from a rain, if he is left out of tent.
Hand bag:
for things which is left in a baggage room before going on a route.
SLEEPING BELONGINGS
Sleeping-bag:
we recommend synthetic sleeping-bags with warmth-keeping layer (Quallofill, Thinsulate, Hollow fibre, Polarguard, and other)
because they are easy and reliable enough.
We do not recommend to take downy sleeping-bags with yourself, they can let down you in rainy weather.

Karimat (carpet):
puts under a sleeping-bag, serves as a gasket between the bottom of a tent and your sleeping-bag.
Similarly necessarily to have little karimat under your "5th point".
CAPS AND GLOVES
Cap for the sun:
the best of all is baseball-cap with fabric, which is closing a neck and dense peak.
It supports a hood well and protects from a contrary snow crumb at wind (see of photo below).
Woolen cap:
Balaklava Polartec® 100 or from fliss.

from thin fliss or cotton closing a face.
Gloves and mittens:
1 pair for work on ice and 2 pair (thin and warm) to an ascent.
"Verkhonki" are necessary in winter (photo on the right) to clothe over fliss gloves.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Table belongings:
spoon, mug and dish ( it’s desirable with lids).
Thermos:
capacity no less than 1 litre. It is obligatory to have because an ascent takes 12-14 hours.
Balsam for lips:
emollient cream as a pomade or in tubes.
Sunblock cream:
50-100 gr.
Sunglasses:
must protect from an ultraviolet radiation. Sunglasses due either to adjoin
to your face tightly or to have protective sidepieces and a strong frame.
In winter it is better to have ski-glasses. If you already use optical glasses, we advise you to order sunglasses. In detail about glasses here.

Ordered sunglasses and contact lenses:
if you usually use them, we advise you to have spare one pair.
Headlight:
a flashlight must be durable and light, with light-emitting diodes,
to have an additional complete set of batteries.
It is necessarily to have a headlight because usually going out to an alp at 2-3 o'clock in the night.
Non-permanent cigarette-lighter:
1-2 pc. is used for set fire to gas-rings.
Individual medical package:
set of medications for your personal "sore". An instructor has a general medicine chest.
SHOES
Fliss socks:
2 pair of long socks. Fliss socks or so-called thermo socks.
Internal socks (supplementary socks):
2 pair of quick-drying polypropylene socks or so-called thermo socks.
Shoe covers ("flashlights"):
1 pair. "Flashlights" are putted over boots to protect from fine stones, dirt, slush and snow falling into boots.
It is desirable that "flashlights" are with zipper or on hook and pile fastener, to take off and put them on without taking boots off.
Mountain boots:
Very important element of outfit. In detail about a shoe here
"Boot anatomy"
Running shoes:
it is desirable to have with yourself ordinary athletic running shoes to use them in a base camp.
PERSONAL outfit
Is given by us and included in the cost of tour.)
Climbing-irons:
to choose in a style with shoes or universal. Many persons ascend without climbing-irons,
but it is necessary to have them with yourself.
Rope:
glaring colouring, it looks effective on pictures.
"System"+"carbines"+"eight"+ice-axe:
used depending on the condition of snow.
Ski sticks:
it is desirable of telescopic type. It is easy to go and retain an balance on slopes and when blasts are.
Ice-axe:
for catching hold at falling down and organization of safety.
OPTIONAL OBJECTS
Camp knife:
one small Swiss Army type knife.
Gas-ring:
we recommend gas-rings that tail to gas-cylinder with a hose.
Thermometer:
to look at what temperature (of air, not body) you climbed on Elbrus.
Binoculars, GPS, camera, video camera.
Tent:
you can take your own tent.
If you have other outfit, which you want to take with yourself,
you can contact with our instructors and guides, who will consult you about your outfit.
If you don’t have listed outfit it does not mean that you must refuse to ascent.
Our grandfathers conquered Elbrus having wadded trousers, a pair of woollen sweaters,
and from above clothed in a sheepskin coat. I know quite a bit well equipped young fellows,
who has not climbed Elbrus. Good outfit and strong muscles are far from main thing in an ascent.
